Meet our people
They are our most valuable asset
Fleet Manager, Copenhagen
“I joined Nordic Tankers back in November 2007. This became my first shore job after sailing on different vessels. In order to keep the vessels running on a day-to-day operation it takes proper planning with safety as our number one focus.
I can have urgent matters that may require that we assemble a team of service engineers, myself included sometimes. And the next thing you know, you are heading towards Houston in order to supervise repairs onboard a vessel.
This is what makes Nordic Tankers such a great place. Besides the team spirit, I have the whole world as my working area.”
Luis Alberto Patarroyo
Operations Manager, Colombia
“I have been part of many seminars with my colleageues, which have contributed significantly to continue growing within the organization and commit myself even more for doing my best. There is no doubt that the Team-Spirit and Can-Do are strong values that motivate me for doing my daily job.
I do really want to say that I’m very proud to be part of this wonderful organization, where I have found not only a place to work but colleagues, who have made me feel like their relatives.”
Christine Lindberg Knudsen
Student Assistant, Copenhagen
"I jumped on board in April 2016 as student assistant. Being a part of the ambitious Nordic Tankers team while studying my Master’s degree has created great opportunities for me to get relevant experience within my study field – and I feel very lucky to be here.
Why? Due to great colleagues, I always enjoy being at work, I get trusted with many different and exciting tasks, and even though the work environment is busy and ever-changing, we ensure to have fun.
My conclusion? Nordic Tankers is definitely an exceptional organization to be part of!"
Manager, Office Operations, Stamford, USA
“I have been with Nordic Tankers since September of 2011. During my time here, I have been able to take on many new tasks and expand my professional skills. It is very gratifying to work for a company that values hard work.
The thing I enjoy most about my position at Nordic Tankers is the interaction with my fellow colleagues. There is an overwhelming sense of team spirit and support. I feel so lucky to have a positive environment that makes me eager to come to work each day.”
Director, Europe & West Africa Trade
“A motivational factor about working in Nordic Tankers is being part of an ambitious growth strategy. With an increasing fleet, we are required to expand our trading activities, and it is inspiring to be a part of the team who does that.
There is a desire to work across departments to optimize results and an awareness that we are working towards the same goal.”
"As the first step of pursuing a career within the shipping industry, I joined Nordic Tankers in August 2015. In one year, I have negotiated with brokers, sailed over the Bay of Biscay, operated ships from the office, attended the dry-docking of a vessel and much more.
Being a trainee requires hard work and dedication, but I do enjoy the challenges. It’s great to be part of the Nordic Tankers team and I look forward to the next experiences together with my colleagues."
Operations Manager, France
“With my job, I work in an international environment, not only internally with colleagues from Denmark/US and crew on board vessels, but also externally with the different customers and agents in ports we are collaborating with.
Working in the operations department gives me the opportunity to face numerous exciting challenges and you can be sure that there is not a day like any other. These challenges are most of the time common with other departments in the company, so it is essential to work together as one team to achieve our goals.”
Junior Operations Manager, Copenhagen
"I started as a trainee in Nordic Tankers, where I had the opportunity to experience different departments. This gave me a better understanding of the entire business and not only the commercial part.
The team-spirit and can-do attitude in Nordic Tankers is essential and going from department to department, I have felt the importance of these values and have been welcomed and made a part of the team. After finishing as a trainee, I was fortunate to be offered a position in Operations. In February 2016, my department became a part of the new company Crystal Nordic, where I am today and still doing operations for the shortsea stainless fleet from Nordic Tankers and Crystal Pool."
